Service is Our Passion, Excellence is Our Promise
” At Heart, Body, & Mind Home Care, we believe that communities are stronger when all of their members are served well and their needs are considered holistically.”
As long-time members of the Southwest Florida community, that is the guiding principle on which we have built our agency. Our founders and the members of our care team are passionate about giving back to our community and helping it thrive. Learn more about our management team and hiring processes below.
As President of Heart, Body, & Mind Home Care, Ralph Laughton is passionate about improving the quality of in-home care and wellness services for older adults, disabled individuals, and others who need home care services in Florida. This led him to design an integrated service approach with a whole-person perspective that considers the intellectual, emotional, social and physical needs of each individual.
Ralph’s experience includes working for more than 18 years in executive and senior management roles in the professional services sector, most recently as a business consultant for a national home care provider. During his career, he also served as Managing Director of Dolman Legal Search & Recruitment, an international agency based in Sydney, Australia, where he oversaw Dolman’s global in-house and private practice senior search and recruitment projects within Australia, England, the Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the United States. Ralph holds a Bachelor of Business and Professional Studies from Barry University, and earned his law degree from the University of Miami, School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida.
Pearl brings over 25 years of management experience in the IT sector to her role at Heart, Body & Mind Home Care, and is responsible for financial and operational oversight. She is a strong leader with a passion for developing talent and guiding teams to deliver high quality services while achieving compliance. Her passion for caregiving originated from personal experience. Pearl was living in Australia when her father suffered a stroke and later developed dementia. She recognized the importance of finding a home care agency to not only care for her father, but to give assurance to family members who lived far away. After she returned from Australia, she was inspired to develop a home care business that delivers the philosophy of care she sought for her father.
Pearl has deep ties to the Southwest Florida community, hailing from an entrepreneurial family who has lived and owned businesses in the area since the early 1980s. Pearl is married to Heart, Body, & Mind President and Co-Owner, Ralph Laughton, and in her free time she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and oil painting.

For that reason, we strive to hire caregivers who are passionate about serving others, good listeners, honest, dependable, and above all, compassionate. All of our caregivers must pass an in-depth and thorough pre-employment behavioral interview, skills assessment, and competency test, followed by verification of professional licenses, CPR certification and professional and personal references, as well as detailed background and criminal records checks before receiving an offer of employment.
To further ensure the safety and security of our clients and their families, all our caregivers are bonded and insured and regularly supervised by our on-staff RN. All our caregivers receive ongoing training to ensure that they stay abreast of emerging senior care issues and care trends.
